Mrs. Pakistan, Saman Hasnain Shines in Mrs. World 2008
Saman Hasnain Mrs, Pakistan World 2008 won three titles in Mrs, World 2008.
San Francisco, USA: Pakistan saw the crowning of a new Mrs. Pakistan World 2008 on the 2nd of January 2008. Saman Hasnain a mother of two lovely boys living in the sunny city of San Francisco was well aware that if she would win, then she would have to attend international beauty pageants. Hasnain travelled to Russia to compete in the Mrs. World 2008 pageant in June 2008b. Mrs. World is an international beauty pageant organized annually as a beauty contest for married women. It is originally based on the Mrs. America beauty pageant. Arranged on lines similar to other beauty pageants, it also lays stress on women's opinion on marriage. It has been organized since 1985. Staying two weeks in Russia, Hasnain performed well on the final night winning three titles for Pakistan: Best in National Costume 2008, Miss Congeniality Runner up 1 2008 and Evening Gown Costume Finalist 2008.
Saman Hasnain’s main focus and aim is to gear the younger generation of Pakistan towards education. She is also passionately involved with many charities that promote progression of women and education in Pakistan. She showed her charitable nature by helping build a school in a small village in Pakistan for 1000 children, and shown consistent support for DIL (Development in Literacy), all while volunteering at her children’s school in San Francisco. She plans to use her new title to increase her work and broaden her scope throughout the world. Besides her passions for bringing Pakistan on the map of beauty pageants, Saman in also in the midst of publishing her second poetry book in Urdu.
Saman Hasnain will be visiting Lahore, Pakistan to explore more charitable organizations and hope to build a bridge for the west and Pakistan to do more projects together in the future. In an interview Saman Hasnain, mentioned that she will utilize her year to show the lighter and moderate image of Pakistan to the world. She also stated that going to international pageants has helped her educate the contestants from all around the world about Pakistan. Hasnain will now be busy preparing for Mrs. Globe 2008 in August 2008 as well as working towards creating The Win Foundation Charity in Pakistan which gears towards women empowerment.
“Mrs. Pakistan World 2008 Saman Hasnain,” are you used to the title yet? Or is it still unbelievable? I am so humble and honored by this title. It's the ultimate reward for my love for Pakistan to be called "Mrs. Pakistan".
A mother of two, an experienced real estate agent, charity work, a poet, what else describes you? A patriotic Pakistani, a feminist, experienced loan officer, a great cook, talented interior designer, excellent event planner, great hostess and a compassionate soul might be a few others.
Tell us a little bit about your husband, the luckiest man on earth at the moment. I think that I am the fortunate one to have a husband like him. He is a wonderful person, a successful real estate developer who owns his own company. He has a degree in electrical engineering from Purdue. He is a supportive husband; we have always worked as a team. He is very proud of my accomplishments.
Also how was your childhood? Childhood was great. We are five sisters. I am the second. It was a lot of fun growing up together. Loving parents, sisters that were and still are my best friends, and I was blessed with wonderful friends and the love of a big extended family.
Any marital advice to Pakistani married women who think life is basically over after a certain age. What "certain age"? I truly believe a woman gets more beautiful and elegant with time. As she becomes a wife and then a mother, then the wisdom she keeps gaining with time, it all gives her, her own unique style, confidence and beauty. My advice to women is to think and feel young, celebrate the woman in you and you will enjoy life to its maximum regardless of your age.
Any advice to the single Pakistani girl who wants to break into the pageant world. Like I always say” Pakistani girls rock!” They are beautiful and talented. My advice to them is to believe in yourself, pursue your dreams and only sky is the limit.
Do your kids know that their mum is Mrs. Pakistan World 2008? Yes they do. They really cheered for me when I won. My sons are so proud of their Mom and their Pakistani heritage. My five year old son has started calling me Mrs. Pakistan instead of Mommy.
How your in-laws do feels about all this? I have great in- laws .They are very supportive and proud of me and have given me their best wishes and blessings for my participation in Mrs. Globe.
You were in Pakistan when you got the news, how did you and your family react? My husband gave me the news over the phone from US. He sounded so excited and proud. My kids cheered and hugged me .My older sister was the first one to read the news published about the new Mrs. Pakistan to me. My whole family was so excited and proud. I was getting calls from everyone. I was so overwhelmed with joy but missed my mom terribly because I knew how proud she would have been of me that day.
You are now in the starts of preparing for the Mrs. Globe pageant in Los Angeles, California USA. What have you done so far in the preparation? Working out, yoga, researching and planning for the event, staying focused and keeping a positive attitude
How do you stay fit? Eating healthy and working out.
There is a swimsuit segment there, how are you coping up with that? The swimsuit segment is a requirement but is allowed with a decent wrap around. This will give me an opportunity to participate in the pageant without compromising my values.
A lot of people are very happy with your becoming Mrs. Pakistan World, as you are described as being the ultimate beauty for Pakistani married women, what do you want to say to your fans? I am very humbled by this compliment. I hope my achievements for empowerment of all Pakistani women outshine my looks. My goal from this title is to achieve maximum benefit for Pakistan especially towards the progress, rights and education of Pakistani women that can and will play a major role towards a more progressive Pakistan.
You are the second Mrs. Pakistan World, and you are going down in history, a history that never existed for Pakistani women, how would your parents feel about their daughter today? My mother is the inspiration behind my success. It is all because of her prayers and blessings that I am where I am today. She died of Cancer a little over a year ago. I am sure she would have been really proud of me. My father is really proud of his shy, little girl who is now a confident woman representing Pakistan.
Describe what “Sexy” means to you. Attractive and appealing
If you were stranded on a desert, which one man would you want to be with besides your husband: President Musharraf, Brad Pitt, Jude Law, Richard Gere or Will Smith Let’s see now being the patriot that I am; if I was stranded on an island I would like to be with the President of Pakistan- President Pervez Musharraf. I would take this time as a great opportunity to tell the president about all my aspirations and suggestions towards the progress of Pakistan and will convince him to take new steps and make new policies that will benefit the country and I am sure being with the president will result in my quickest and safest rescue.
If you had 3 wishes to make, what would they be? I wish to get a maximum opportunity to do humanitarian services in Pakistan to eradicate poverty & illiteracy. I wish to empower the women of Pakistan through my achievements and by becoming a true role model for them. I wish to open schools for girls and charitable institutes for the needy throughout Pakistan in the name and memory of my mother.
Would you be interested in any Lollywood, Bollywood or Hollywood offers? Everybody has a purpose in life I want to focus mine on the above three wishes.
What are your hobbies? I love writing poetry, listening to music, enjoy reading good book, Reiki and my favorite hobby is spending quality time with my kids.
You are a strong independent married Pakistani woman, is there a secret to a successful marriage in today’s world? Mutual respect and admiration, open communication and team work. Standing 100% behind your life partners dreams and aspirations to let them grow and achieve to their maximum potential.
